Rachel and I’s genius hour project will definitely
stand out to colleges and shape both of our lives tremendously. Our project
focuses on one main point, which is to help others through service. This will
show to the colleges around the world that we are both kind, caring, passionate
about others and how we can change their lives to become better. Our project
helps the people in need have better supplies, food, and clothing. All of these
things are essential in an everyday lifestyle. We will be hosting a couple of
fundraisers before spring break trying to reach our coal of $1000 to send to
the families living in St. Mary’s Perish, Jamaica. Our project is an eye-opener
to the real world because it shows colleges how easy it is for a high school
student to do a few kind and simple acts that can change people’s lives
forever. Rachel and I hope to also have numerous bake sales before spring break
to add additional money to the money going towards the families in Jamaica. We
both hope to create fun events for lower and middle school students within our
local community at school that will benefit and change our lives as well, while
at the same time, help those in need in different countries than ours. Our events
will consist of exciting games, music, dancing, and just a fun time to sit back
and have a good time. Our genius hour project will most definetly shape my life plan because I hope when I become older to help others around the world. And this is the small but mighty start to a wonderful future. :)
